Neufunde spätlatènezeitlicher Münzen als Beitrag zum Verständnis der Siedlungsentwicklung im Oppidum auf der Berner Engehalbinsel
Abstract: A dynamic model involving both earlier and later settlement centres was previously developed for the oppidum on the Enge peninsula. Although relatively small in number, coins played an important role in our understanding of the overall picture. Surveying carried out between 2016 and 2018 yielded a significant number of Celtic coins suggesting a re-evaluation of the La Tène period coin sequences from various sites on the Enge peninsula. Based on these new finds, some hitherto little-known aspects could provide a stimulus for further research. However, the coins have not provided any reasons to discard the settlement model developed previously. Numerous Roman coins also came to light, though these can only be briefly dealt with here.
